I started this blog in 2019. When I started, it was a great way to express myself and process my emotions. I had hoped it would help other spellers, but even if no one read it, it was still an amazing outlet for me. At that time, I struggled with a lot of people pleasing. When I would communicate with people directly, I would often say what I thought they might want hear or what would be easiest for them. My blog gave me a way to broadly share my mindset, without worrying about the stress that came from wanting to please someone. It was essentially a journal.
Over time I saw people really enjoyed what I was writing. I got comments from spellers, parents, and even professionals who worked with autistic people. Seeing that I could make a difference really drove me to the idea that it was possible for me to become an advocate. Now that I am able to communicate directly with others more effectively, the primary reason I blog is to help other people. It is a dream of mine to help other autistic people who are similar to me.
