Occupational Therapy

I recently started Occupational Therapy with Amplifying Potential Therapy‘s new OT, Kayla Adams. I have not done intensive OT in several years and I am so excited to start. I am still able to do many life skills tasks that I learned back when I was still attending along with my other therapies. This time, I am attending OT with different goals in mind.

I am most excited about working on my vision. I have received support with this a little already, but most of the practice has been at home. I also really want to work on my self-monitoring. I need a lot of reminders to examine my own behavior closely. I always forget my device, don’t notice backwards or dirty clothes, and don’t notice if I make a mess while eating. I need to be explicitly taught how to do these things. I cannot create these motor plans on my own, so I am thankful for support.
