Sign Language

I have used sign language to get my needs met for as long as I can remember. I have used it when my letterboards would take too long to access or when I am on the go. I would use it when I wanted to elope because I could tell people what was going on quickly. I would sign anything and it would be honored. That’s what ABA taught me. I would sign bathroom or break and I would get it. I am now expected to work for extended periods of time and my signs aren’t honored. ABA taught me one thing for so many years and now they want the opposite. Now I have gotten into a motor loop of scrolling through and doing all of my signs, because I was trying so hard to have one of them honored when I needed a break. I realize that rules change with age. It doesn’t make the scripting go away though. I don’t know what the solution is. My body starts doing the sign the second I get tired or bored and I can’t always stop it before it happens. Holding hands with someone seems to reduce it. Other than that though, I have no idea. If anyone has any suggestions for scripting in sign language, I would love to hear them.
