I have been gearing up to go back to school! I have been homeschooled for a while now due to my health conditions. I am stable now, so I am going to see how I do in normal high school. To prepare for the transition, my school assigned me three pen pals. I have been writing them for a few weeks and it has been great! It has made me feel included in the school and in general education. I think this would benefit many students in special ed. I am always so excited when they write to me. My feelings about school have changed a great deal because of this and I am very appreciative!

The people who write me are very kind and try to understand me and autism. Autism isn’t as understood as some may think. Allowing students in general ed and special ed to interact is beneficial for everyone.
